Arvada is situated about 6 miles northwest of downtown Denver, between Golden on the southwest, Westminster on the northwest and northeast, and Denver on the southeast. It’s a largely residential area, chosen by many because of the easy access to all of the major arteries leading to the Denver business areas and the Denver International Airport on the east, and the mountain parks and ski areas on the west. Arvada has many parks, recreation areas, golf courses, and one of the most outstanding cultural centers in the Denver Metro area, the Arvada Center for the Performing Arts. Homes vary from, for instance, the new around the West Woods Golf Course to the ambiance of those in the old neighborhoods around Grandview Avenue in Old Town Arvada.
