Among Denver’s smaller communities, Thornton and Northglenn are located in the northeast quadrant of the Denver Metro area, in Adams County. Much of the area’s recent growth along the north corridor has taken place here. Thornton has been aggressive in its pursuit to acquire and preserve recreation areas, and has designated over 1,000 acres for public parks. Both towns are known for an equitable blend of high profile business, recreation, and homes, and are closer to Denver International Airport than any other Denver communities.
